A smart way to share your skills, knowledge and achievements

Communicating your credentials as a series of bullet points on your resume can be challenging. It’s difficult to stand out from the crowd when your skills and job titles may not fully represent your range of professional skills, knowledge, and experience.

To help showcase your achievements, APACSMA has partnered with Credly’s Acclaim platform to provide you with APACSMA Credentials, a digital version of your qualifications and abilities. Digital badges signify your achievements in a way that can be displayed, accessed, verified and shared online.

What are APACSMA credentials?

APACSMA Credentials are a suite of digital badges that visually represent your achievements and allow you to easily manage, verify and share them online. Digital badges provide employers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn them and what you’re now capable of. They tell employers:

  • What you’ve done
  • Why it’s important
  • Who says it’s important

You can earn a digital badge by completing a range of courses. Recognising that you have a lifetime of learning to build upon, APACSMA Credentials also provide evidence of knowledge and capabilities gained in your professional and personal life.

How it works?

You will receive an email notifying you to claim your badge at our partner Acclaim’s website.

  1. Click the link in that email.
  2. Create an account on the Acclaim site.
  3. Claim your badge.
  4. Start sharing.
FAQs

Q: What is an open badge?

A: Open badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online.

Q: How does my certification get displayed as a badge?

A: The learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated are translated into a digital badge, issued and managed through Credly’s Acclaim platform. The technology used on the Acclaim Platform is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.

Q: What are the benefits of a badge?

A: Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re now capable of.

Q: Who is Acclaim?

A: Acclaim is a product of Credly, the world’s leading learning company. Acclaim is an enterprise-class badging platform based on Mozilla’s Open Badges standards to support the specialized needs of credential issuers, employers and professionals.

The Acclaim platform provides a secure means of credential management and sharing that adds a layer of protection against those who may falsely claim certifications or credentials.

Q: What if I don’t want my badge to be public?

A: You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Acclaim Platform. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

Q: Is there a fee to use Credly’s Acclaim Platform?

A: No. This is a service we provide to you, at no cost.

Q: What’s to keep someone else from copying my badge and using it?

A: While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly’s Acclaim Platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

Q: Where and how can I share my badge through Credly’s Acclaim Platform?

A: You can share your badge directly from the Acclaim Platform to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook; over email; embedded in a website or in your email signature.

Q: How can i attach my badge to my email signature?

Yes,  adding a hyperlinked badge image to your email signature is a great way to make sure your professional network is aware of your certifications, credentials and other badge-worthy recognition.

Q: How do I add my badge to my LinkedIn profile?

LinkedIn now requires individuals to manually add information about their certification in order to share their badge to their profile.
