The New Economy has thrown up many challenges and in the aftermath of the Asian crisis, waves of retrenchments swept through during difficult times. Many sought eagerly for gainful employment, while others sought to know their rights and responsibilities as employees; others felt the urgent need for basic group protection benefits, such as medical and health insurance.
